My pup, Vito
Earlier this year back at the beginning of summer, my aunt got a dog. The dog was named Bruno and she would bring him everywhere with her. My parents saw how good of a dog paired with his temperment and it got them thinking about getting a little pup for ourselves. My mom brought up her idea to my aunt and they both thought it would be great. For context, my aunt lives down in Tennessee and that's where she got her dog from. She still was in contact with the lady that she bought Bruno from. My aunt then got a hold of the lady and asked if she had any other dogs that she was looking to sell. Luckily for my family, she did. It turned out that Bruno had a brother!
My family was eager to find out this news. We planned out a trip to go visit my aunt and go pick up the dog. At this point it was the middle of July and we all wanted a dog. We made the trip down to Tennessee. When we arrived at the lady's house we were greeted by a bunch of other dogs that she had and of course the dog that we wanted. We played with the dog for a little bit and tried to get a feel for how he was. My whole family loved him. He seemed like a good fit for my family. So after a little bit more running around and playing with him, we made the deal and got the dog. Now came the hard part, finding a name. The dog was a light brownish color so we thought about naming him stoge, after a nickname for a cigar. This was a funny name because my dad and I like to smoke cigars and his tail kinda resembled a cigar. My siblings and I were talking about names and each of us would say a name and then we'd vote and veto certain names. As we were doing this process I thought to myself, what if we named the dog Veto. But that name didn't fit. I told my dad the name and he liked it. However, instead of the spelling Veto, we went with the spelling of Vito, like one of the main characters in The Godfather series. This name stuck.
We then headed back to my aunt's house for the reuniting of the brothers. When we arrived at my aunt's, both dogs were ecstatic to see eachother. They were playing with eachother for hours. We spent another day at my aunt's then said our goodbyes and headed back home. The only difference from going there to coming back was the addition of a new family member.
